i'm not even supposed to BE here today
yesterday, paul couldn't go to the newberry store, so i had to go in for him. i already wrote this blog once and blogger hates me and i don't feel like repeating it, so you're now getting the version where i skip to the end of the day. (i'll just say it was a weird day, thanks to spanish, sonic, and the computer)
(skipping 2 paragraphs here about the terrors of closing when people did payouts i didn't have record of and other issues with the cash and closing)
after supposedly closing at 7, i was finally ready to leave about 8:30, when i realized i'd left my keys in my car at lunch. i should have taken a picture, so that everyone could see me with my arm stuck through my moonroof holding a random cane (i'd found in the store), with a stick and a paper clip taped to the end. the coming storm was making the quickly darkening sky flash and whipping my hair around, so it was difficult to see what i was doing. but it worked, and i left newberry around 9. because i'd never driven this route in the dark, and because the lightning was making stuff look strange, i missed my turn and i ended up in saluda about the time my empty light came on.
