though it all looks different now, i know its still the same

i think occasionally its a good idea to be dumb and irresponsible for a few hours. otherwise anna would never have convinced me to take nathan's extra nine inch nails tickets thursday afternoon. since we work til six, we ended up leaving greenwood about 6:30. of course we missed queens of the stone age and death from above 1979 (i think those are the names). we got to atlanta, and via text messaging with nathan and russell, found the philips arena. (downtown atlanta is really confusing and frustrating, due primarily to the one way streets and the inability to turn around if you miss a turn.) we parked (20 bucks!) and made our way to the arena. philips arena is really nice, great venue. we found our way into the massive building (after getting directions from a bunch of people outside) and found russell and our seats. (nathan and joshua were in the floor right up next to the stage, due to josh's elite fan club status) the concert was really awsome. even though trent reznor was less than half the size of an action figure from my seat, the visuals were amazing. somewhere in the middle of the set (which was like 2 hours long!) they lowered a translucent curtain and played a couple videos. when they shone a light on trent behind the curtain he was little tiny right in the middle of the video, singing. the only down part of the evening was the drunk guys (the only two i saw in the whole place) sitting right next to russell. i couldn't believe how dumb you'd have to be to get completely drunk for a concert if you like the band at all. they missed most of it i'm sure. they kept falling on top of russell and slipping in their vomit and falling flat out in the floor. one tried to take my seat and my cell phone. but the amazingly nice nine inch nails fans helped us out. the ones behind us squished up (since everyone was standing anyway) and let us have their seats (well, stand in front of them, as they fold up extremely small when their occupants are standing). afterward, we went to waffle house and then i rode home with joshua, sleeping off and on. my brother drove my car, and we met back at his house. went home, took a shower, and got in bed about 5. got up at 7:30 for work, and was suprisingly not tired most of the day. but i did go to bed early friday.

*title obviously lyrics from trent reznor: something i can never have (good song, check it out)
