that's me in the spot light

star wars: digital! and thx surround. tuesday was the adventure to greenville that had been planned for several days. one of the guys in our group, being the nice guy that he is, invited someone else to come along as well. we were planning on leaving at 7 to go to dinner before the show, but this chica had something else going on. so we ended up waiting for her and didn't get out of greenwood til about 8:20. of course, we were all ready to forgive her for holding us up. after all, i'd have felt pretty awful keeping a group of people i didn't know waiting for that long. when the two cars met up at jack in the box, new girl wasn't with the others. after much confusion and wariness, i finally got this story: when she got in the car, she began to complain that she shouldn't be going. by the time they'd gotten halfway to greenville, it became apparent that she didn't like star wars and that she may not have realized what a bunch of geeks she was going with. when they stopped at the hotspot, this girl announced she didn't want to go to greenville with us after all. she would wait at the hotspot and have someone come get her. now i don't know about everyone else, but i cannot imagine driving halfway to greenville with a bunch of people i didn't know, after making them really late, and then deciding i didn't want to go. i can't fathom what would make someone do that.
