and off we'll go in white lights...i don't think so.

but what do i know?

this will probably be my last post for a while, as i'm going to be pretty busy the next couple weeks. i have so many assignments that need to be done, and i'm nowhere close to finishing them, but i'm not extremely worried, either, since i seem to work best under pressure. saturday, i've got to get up probably around 3 in the morning to go to london to rescue a bunch of american tourists.
this weekend was crazy. i went to oxford (alone again) and stayed in a building with a girl that goes to calvary chapel. she reserved the guest room for me and picked me up at gloucester green (for americans, the 'ce' is silent in most english words) and fed me supper. i had a nice time staying in my own room, as opposed to the hostel with 10 beds. i even had my own wc and television! the next morning, the angel fed me breakfast and we went to church. after church, the same couple that i had stayed with before invited me and jackie to their house for lunch. (this lady can cook!) got to the bus stop at quarter of five and waited for my bus. shame that the bus doesn't say 'northampton.' i watched the cambridge bus pull up, load and leave. then it was five and my bus didn't come. ha. now, after two such ordeals, i have figured it out. while the bus timetable is completely unclear about this, i have determined that i am expected to take the cambridge bus, then alight at milton keynes and get on another bus to northampton. well, it was the last bus of the evening to northampton (or connecting to northampton, rather) and determined not to show my stupidity, refused to call anyone in oxford. i was called a 'dilly' last time i missed the bus, and i assume that to be pretty much an equivalent to a ditz. i will, by no means, subject myself to such labels if ever avoidable, so i called local taxi companies. £60 to get to northampton. ok, try something else. i discovered that the same bus i was supposed to get on comes every hour. that means i can at least get to milton keynes, which is very close to northampton. so i decided to take the 6.00 to milton keynes. no show. so i (and everyone waiting for the 6.00) boarded the 7.00. the seats were all full and the aisle was squashed full of people standing for the hour and something trip. at milton keynes, i went into the train station and purchased a ticket for the next train to n'hampton. when i arrived, it was after 9.00 so i couldn't get a bus. i went outside to the taxi queue and there were only big taxis, so i spent another £7 to get to campus. so much for my arriving early and working on my papers.
my starkingdoms.com kingdom died. it was attacked and pilfered...
well, i have to get a train ticket and make sure my reservations went through for saturday and... well, yeah i'm gonna sign off here. i'll be back around the end of term.
