i don't believe that anybody feels the way i do about you now

today, i went shopping in northampton. figuring i'd try my hand at making my favourite meal, i bought supplies for bacon and brie baguettes. i really can't figure out british bacon. i finally picked one of the many types of bacon, and it really turned out okay, though a bit thin. my favourite baguette goes nicely with a glass of milk, and i splurged and bought apple pie. (before you flip out about my excessive spending, know that my miniature apple pies were 6 for 40p.) overall, a lovely meal. and i have plently left for three more of them.
i've figured out what makes british blokes stand out as british: they are all metro, even the punks. they like hair gel, but by no means have an appreciation for nicely groomed hair. the messier, the better, but it seems there is still care taken to make it so. it is very popular here to have streaks of other colours, particularly blonde in brown, and often the streakes are not the entire lenghth of the hair. i saw one bloke yesterday (watching a football match in the union) who was wearing a cap, but the hair underneath looked as if it had gotten caught in some sort of machine. it had streaks of colour, and the cut was all choppy different lengths.
while i was in town centre today, i heard wonderwall by oasis, and i swear the blokes in the flat next to mine were playing aisha while i was eating tea.
music is a strange phenomenom here.
