why every sky still looks the same*

i really should blog as soon as i get online. i think my mood changes after spending time on the net. especially if nobody is online, and i read people's blogs and start missing them.

yesterday was the clearest sky i've seen here this trip. i discovered that the sun actually sets later than when it usually gets dark. i got to see the sunset, and it was a beautiful one, pink, orange, blue, and purple.

after it got dark, i saw orion. the sky looks the same here, but he was upside-down i think.

i slept late today, and then i went with sarah (from winthrop) to northampton via bus. we spent a few hours wandering around, checking out the market, thrift stores, fun clothing stores, and t.k. maxx. really one of the best days i've had in a long time. it was unexplainably fun to see some of the stuff i saw. by the time we came home, it was only about 5, but as soon as we got on the bus, both of us were tired, so we came straight back.

i really like the way everything is so close together here, and i can walk or ride the bus anywhere. i discovered one of the things that makes these towns so quaint is the lack of power lines. all power here is underground, so it doesn't look like its in the middle of industrialization. traffic lights are on little posts; stores are close together; and there are little shops everywhere. but i miss walmart. nothing like being able to go shopping after 6pm. and i still haven't figured out where to buy a lot of stuff. with all these little shops, it takes longer to do your shopping. and having not figured out the bus system completely (i think i've gotten it pretty down in the last 2 days though), i've spent several afternoons with much more time in transit than anyone should.

my mom pointed out today that i'm taking five classes. i'm only supposed to be taking four, so that means i can drop one. it won't make any difference at lander cause a few of them are just electives anyway.

i think i haven't got a lot else to say, and since i'm not sure if anyone reads this anyway, i'm gonna go away now.
