my shadow's the only one that walks beside me
i was sitting on the freebus (school shuttle) today, thinking of how aloneness seems to be easier in a busier place, and i heard boulevard of broken dreams. maybe a bit cliche, but it seemed appropriate. i think alone people seem to like being busy, whether they actually think they do or not. it keeps them from having to think as much.
i think this place is the same as greenwood. or london. or houston. or quito, ecuador or chengdu, china. i can see the same groups. they may look just a little bit different everywhere, but they are the same basic groups. they have the same purposes. all of them want to mean something, to be unique or special, and to be part of something. wandered around northampton today looking for a place to get a haircut (but decided against paying £35- more than $60!) and i saw some kids walking along with the generic high-school-age-skateboarder look. one had a skateboard. if i skateboarded, i'd do it there. its a wide, cobblestone street with the ends blocked off from cars
the weather here is moody. earlier it was clear, then i went outside and it was cloudy. walking over here was beautiful. it's like 11:30, so of course its dark. the sky was really clear, and the moon was really bright, with only a hint of a halo. i could see several stars. but a little less than half the sky was covered in cloud, as if god had spilled his cream for his coffee and it had kindof melted and slid across the sky. there were just one or two brave stars trying to peek out through this.
someday i'm going to find out the name of the dance-mix i hear so often and i am going to link it here. then you will know what i hear several times a day. that, and american idiot by green day. they seem to like that song, especially. they play those two so often i hear them in my sleep- oh, wait, they play them while i'm sleeping...
i always seem to have brilliant things i'm going to say, and when i sit down (blogger's block?), i start to ramble...
