waiting

today the world is holding its breath. it is waiting for the imminent. it is the feeling that sits in the air at the end of a semester, while everyone is taking exams and writing papers, like something is just about to end. maybe its good, maybe bad, maybe both. at the end of the semester, it is exciting because it is almost christmas, or almost summer. but it is sad too for many people; they are leaving friends. there is something about the end of something that is sad in itself, whether a good thing or bad. ending means change, something that can never be again. and even if something were, the ending of it would still be sad, because it means moving on, a loss of something that was part of life. i don't know what we are waiting for today, but i feel an impatience in the air, like it is near the end of something...
